Two-phase flows: drop and bubble formation

We are working on improving the bubble generation because this has become an area of major importance for an increasing number of industrial processes which needs to be optimized.

In particular, we are investigating several aspects related with general features of bubble formation inside stagnant liquids with different viscosity, such as size, frequency, shape or the wake behind the bubbles, by means of theory, experiments and numerical simulations.

We are also studiyng the bubble formation inside a co-flowing water stream (co-flowing configuration) with different geometries in order to improve the control over the bubble size and the frequency, improving therefore the efficiency of the process.
