The Fluid Mechanics Research Group has taken part at experiments of atrium fires within large enclosures and smoke propagation, carried out at the Technological Center of Murcia (Spain). The goal was to characterize the fire and smoke evolution within large premises, like shopping centers, airport terminals, movie theaters, etc., so that new effcient protection and evacuation systems can be designed.
