Rocío Bolaños Jiménez

Born in Mancha Real (Jaén), she is currently Assistant Professor at Universidad de Jaén.

Education

Rocío Bolaños studied at the Universidad de Granada (Spain) where she obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering in 2004. After her graduation, she worked during almost two years for Valeo Lighting Systems Spain as R+D engineer performing both experiments and numerical simulations about mechanical and thermal material properties. She moved to the Universidad de Jaén in 2006 where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Engineering in 2008 and a PhD degree in 2011, under the supervision of Dr. Alejandro Sevilla Santiago and Prof. Dr. Carlos Martínez Bazán. Her PhD dissertation dealt with experimental and theoretical study on bubble formation. She has complemented her formation with various stays at the University of Twente (The Netherlands) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain).

Teaching Activities:

Rocío has been teaching assistant in several fluid mechanics courses since 2008 to present.

Interests

Her research focuses on fundamental studies in multiphase flow, including experimental and analytical analysis. In particular laminar bubble formation in different geometrical configurations.
