Interests

Dr Gutiérrez-Montes is a Lecturer in Fluid Mechanics at the University of Jaén , Spain.

His research interests cover a wide range of multidisciplinary topics on fire dynamics, multiphase flow and transition flows. He is currently a member of the Fluid Mechanics Research Group (TEP-235) of the University of Jaén.

Dr Gutiérrez-Montes arrived to Jaén in 2006 while he was still collaborating on his PhD with researchers at the Politechnical University of Cartagena. His thesis is focused on the study of the fire-induced conditions within big volume enclosures such as atria, both by means of full-scale experiments and numerical simulations.
